11/03/2015 ACS/Iridium, Worldwide Leader in concessions

ACS/Iridium leader again in 2015 in the classification of the major groups in the promotion and development of infrastructure-concession projects in the world, according to the ranking published annually by the magazine 'Public Works FinancigÂ’ (PWF). Since 1994, Iridium Concesiones de Infraestructuras has been rated as World Leader in developing, financing, building and operating all types of infrastructure.

ACS/Iridium, world leader in concessions with 60 projects in 2015, for the ninth year running, according to the specialist journal Public Works Financing (PWF). Moreover the ACS group, through Iridium, has been awarded the three biggest concessions in 2015 (within the Top Ten Transport deals of the year 2015 according to the journal PWF). These are: Lima Metro in Peru, worth 6 billion dollars, in which Iridium has a 25% stake and which recently closed the biggest project finance deal in that countryÂ’s history; the Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit, with an investment of 5.5 billion dollars for a team led by ACS Infrastructure Canada; and the new Champlain Bridge over the Saint Lawrence River, also in Canada, valued at 3.4 billion dollars and with ACS Infrastructure Canada and Hochtief accounting for 50% of a consortium alongside local firm SNC Lavalin. On 19 June the concessionaire managing the contract for the Champlain Bridge succeeded in closing its financing, representing a milestone in the sector given the projectÂ’s complexity and magnitude.

Iridium is the benchmark in North America, with 11 infrastructure projects under concession (three in the US and eight in Canada).

SpainÂ’s presence is moreover among the top ten in the world, with five big construction groups and concessionaires: Iridium (ACS), Globalvía (FCC and Bankia), Abertis, Cintra (Ferrovial) and Sacyr. OHL is in 11th place and Acciona 15th.
