Line 1 of the Seville Subway was inaugurated with the presence of the President of the Government of Andalusia and the Minister of Public Works.
On 2 April 2009, line 1 of the Seville Subway was inaugurated in the presence of the President of the Government of Andalusia and the Minister of Public Works. The grand opening of the line to all the users took place at 2 p.m.
The project consists in the public works concession contract for the construction, financing, operation and maintenance of the interurban Line 1 of the Seville Subway.
Metro Line 1 connects the city with two key points in the metropolitan area of Seville: Aljarafe and Dos Hermanas. It does so by making use of a layout that combines sections underground with stretches on the surface.
This line, with a length of 18 kilometers, has 22 stations and will convey an estimated traffic of 14 million passengers a year.
