On the 15th of December, the concessionary company Windsor Essex Mobility Group (Canada), with 33.33% Iridium participation, closed the financing on the public works concession contract for the design, financing, construction, operation, maintenance and rehabilitation of the Windsor-Essex Parkway Project in Ontario, Canada. It has an estimated budget of 1,334 million Canadian dollars (approximately 995 million Euros) and a 34-year duration.

The financing of 1,147 million Canadian dollars (approximately 855 million Euros) is divided among ten banks: Banesto, Credit Agricole, Dexia, WestLB, Bank of Tokyo, Santander, SG, BNP, ING and Caja Madrid.

The future path will be the largest motorway investment in Ontario Province history and is the result of the commitment of the Ontario and Canadian governments to improve the transport network at the Windsor border zone. The newly constructed highway connects the 401 motorway with the Windsor zone at the border with the USA. The project is approximately eleven kilometres long with six lanes. It also includes the construction of adjacent service roads, intersections, gardening works, footpaths and bicycle lanes.
