“Groundbreaking” event for the project A-308 Iznalloz-Darro dual carriageway, with an estimated investment of 200 million Euros and a 30-year concession period.

The Council for Public Works and Housing of the Andalucía Regional Government in functions presided over the “Groundbreaking” event for the future A-308 Iznalloz-Darro dual carriageway, which is the first infrastructure in Andalusia for which the execution, maintenance and operation are carried out using public-private collaboration formulas. The dual carriageway construction involves an investment of 200 million Euros. The execution time is 32 months, with a 30-year concession period.

This infrastructure execution includes the construction of 36.6 kilometres of highway that links with the A-44 at the Iznalloa terminus (Venta de la Nava crossing) with the A.92 in the Darro Municipality. These works mean that thousands of vehicles travelling daily between the peninsula centre and the Levante in Almeria will now save over 25 kilometres and at the same time, will assist in reducing the traffic on the already saturated Granada Bypass.
