On the 26th of March 2014, the new reversible express toll lanes were opened on the I-595 interstate expressway in Florida in the United States. The concessionary company, which has a 50% participation of ACS ID, the Iridium Concesiones United States subsidiary, thus achieved the final construction milestone by opening the new reversible toll lanes within the forecast construction completion date.
The construction, which cost 1,197 million US Dollars, includes the reconstruction and widening of seventeen kilometers of the I-75 and I-95 interstate highways and four kilometers of the Turnpike from Peters Road to Griffin Road. The project includes the construction of three reversible toll lanes on the highway central reservation, the improvement of the SR 84 service road, the construction of seven intertwined intersections and the reconstruction of the intersection with the Turnpike. The design speed is 104 km/h on the expressway and 112 km/h on the toll lanes.
Over the next thirty years of the concession, the concessionary company will be responsible for routine maintenance as well as the rehabilitation of this new highway and will receive income in the Florida Transport Department in the form of payments for final works acceptance and availability.
