The Ruta 5, Puerto Montt-Pargua is now open to traffic in Chile. The project investment was 190 Million Euros, with a maximum of 40-year concession period.

On the 20th of June 2014, the highway Ruta 5 Puerto Montt – Pargua, in Chile, came into operations with tolling collection. The concessionaire obtained Substantial Completion status authorisation on the 11th of November 2014.The concessionary company, which has a 51% participation of Concesiones Viarias Chile, the Iridium Concesiones Chilean subsidiary, thus achieved the final construction milestone by opening the new toll lanes within the forecast construction completion date.

The construction, which cost 190 Million Euros and is 55 kilometres long is located 1,050 kilometres south of Santiago and connects Puerto Montt with the access to the Isla de Chiloé, which is a tourist spot. The project includes financing, construction and operation as Direct Motorway Toll during a maximum of forty years.
