Iridium is awarded the twenty five-year concession for the Conexion Pacífico 1 project in Colombia, with an investment of 1.200 million Euros.
The consortium participated by Iridium (40%) has obtained the contract for the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of the Conexión Pacífico 1 Project in Colombia. The investment is up to 1,200 million Euros. The forecast period for the construction stage is five years, after which operation will commence for twenty five years (extendable up to thirty years).
The project consists of 49 km to connect the “Coffee-growing Triangle” with the interior of the country and its main ports. The works include building 31 km of dual-carriageway and maintenance of the current road, as well as building 42 bridges, two twin tunnels and a road interchange at different levels.
This project will provide an efficient link between the centres of supply and production in the north of the country (located in the departments of de Magdalena, Atlántico, Bolívar, Córdoba, Sucre and Antioquia) with the Coffee-growing Triangle, the Cauca valley and the Pacific Ocean.
