The South Fraser Perimeter Road highway services large volumes of traffic in the Metro Vancouver area. The design-build-finance-operate-maintain project is 40-km (25-mile) corridor and is a new 4-lane, 50 mph route along the south side of the Fraser River. The route provides a significant improvement for Metro Vancouver’s major roadway network by connecting primary gateway facilities and facilitating access to the border with the United States, the Tsawwassen ferry terminal, the Roberts Bank Port facility, and the British Columbia Interior. South Fraser Perimeter Road provides benefits to commuters, tourists, the trucking industry and is a key component in the Canadian Federal Government’s Asia Pacific Trade Gateway.
