Highway 427 Expansion is a design-build-finance-operate-maintain project in Toronto, Canada. It includes the construction of a new 6.5-km (4-mile), 6- and 8-lane highway extension, 4 km (2.5 miles) of widening existing portions from four to six lanes, and the construction of three new interchanges and High Occupancy Toll lanes. The project is a critical link in the south-central Ontario transportation network. Key elements include construction of 6.4-km (4-miles) of a new 8-lane extension of the highway; 4 km (2.5 miles) of widening of the existing highway from four to eight lanes; 19 structures, including 13 new structures for mainline crossings, two rail overpass crossings, and four structures over water; rehabilitation of 12 existing structures; and widening and realignment of ramps.
